‘Awakening From the Dream’ with Jonathan Eig
Join Rabbi Daniel Burg along and Bishop Donte Hickman Sr. from Southern Baptist Church for a conversation with author Jonathan Eig about his forthcoming biography, “King: A Life.” The biography is about civil rights icon Martin Luther King Jr. and is the first major biography of MLK to include recently declassified FBI files. Explore geek culture and genres and learn about their relevance in the current play therapy landscape through this Jewish Community Services training. Play therapy uses children’s natural medium of expression to help them express their feelings, develop coping strategies and expand their skills for creative thinking and problem-solving, among other benefits. This training will take place online.

Telephone Friends for 60+
Join a series of free telephone get-togethers organized by Jewish Community Services for adults who are 60 and older. Participants don’t need a computer, smartphone or Wi-Fi to participate. The first call will take place May 24, and again every Wednesday from 2 to 3 p.m. To receive the call-in number, contact Rozi Rice at 410-843-7325.

IEP Bingo
Learn more about the different components of the IEP program and how it can be customized to meet your child’s unique needs through a personalized Bingo card based on your child’s IEP. Prizes will be offered for the winners. To participate, attendees should bring their child’s IEP and a notepad to the meeting. This event is part of Specialized Solutions, a series of The Macks Center for Jewish Connections. The free meeting will take place online via Zoom from 8 to 9 p.m.

The Power of Sports to Make Peace in Israel
Discover how sports programming, peace education and leadership development can empower young people to build peaceful and equitable societies. This event will feature Brendan Tuohey, the co-founder and president of PeacePlayers. Dinner will also be served, and dietary laws observed.
