Books & Bites: Pam Weissman Author Talk
In her book “Your World,” local psychotherapist Pam Weissman provides a heartfelt guide for parents, teachers and caregivers. She offers advice on imparting affection, stability, compassion and peace of mind to those under their care. Weissman’s insights encourage readers to lean on each other when life gets tough. This discussion is a free event taking place at the Jewish Library of Baltimore in the Park Heights JCC, at 5708 Park Heights Ave., Baltimore from noon to 1 p.m.

Uptown Concerts: Christine Lavin & Vance Gilbert
As part of Uptown Concerts, Inc., a folk music performance series based in the Baltimore area, Temple Isaiah will be hosting a concert from singer-songwriters Christine Lavin and Vance Gilbert. This will take place at Temple Isaiah, 12200 Scaggsville Road, Fulton at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Community Shabbat Dinner and Talk with Dr. Rachel Fish
Chizuk Amuno Congregation will be hosting Dr. Rachel Fish, Special Advisor to The Brandeis University Presidential Initiative to Counter Antisemitism in Higher Education. The talk’s theme is “Deconstructing Narratives and Rebuilding Intellectual Frameworks.” Discussion will be followed by a community Shabbat dinner. This will take place at Chizuk Amuno Congregation, 8100 Stevenson Road, Baltimore from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

In Gratitude: A Tribute to Earth, Wind and Fire
Back by popular demand, this acclaimed tribute ensemble honoring the legendary musical powerhouse returns to the Gordon stage. This will take place at The Gordon Center, at 3506 Gwynnbrook Ave., Owings Mills at 7 p.m.

Rainbow Circle Picnic in Druid Hill Park
Enjoy the final days of summer with a laid-back picnic! Join Beth Am’s Rainbow Circle for a family friendly picnic. Bring your own lunch and picnic blanket or chair. Calling all knitters, crocheters, and yarn artisans! Join fellow knitters to connect and get to know each other. We’ll craft for a cause and hear from a local recipient about the impact our hats and scarves have made. Whether you’re a seasoned knitter or just starting out, everyone is welcome! Experienced knitters will be available to teach knitting, crocheting or loom techniques. Snacks will be served!
