Celebrating Chanukah Early in Annapolis

On Dec. 15, Governor Larry Hogan and First Lady Yumi Hogan (pictured top right lighting a chanukiah) presided over the annual Chanukah brunch arranged by Leonard and Phyllis Attman and their family (pictured bottom, second from left and second from right, respectively). The brunch is an opportunity for Jewish influentials from Baltimore and Greater Washington alike to connect and discuss community news and interests. Gov. Hogan also gives an update on the state of Maryland’s economic collaborations with Israeli companies and upcoming trips to Israel by state officials.

“The First Lady and I were delighted to host a Hanukkah brunch at Government House to honor our state’s rich Jewish culture and celebrate this season of miracles,” Hogan’s official Facebook account posted Dec. 15. “I pledge to continue to strongly support and advocate for Maryland’s Jewish community and for the state of Israel, which is one of America’s best and most important allies.”

Rabbi Stuart Weinblatt of Bnai Tzedek and Rabbi Mitchell Wohlberg of Beth
Tfiloh also spoke at the event.
