Rabbi Nochum Katsenelenbogen of Chabad of Owings Mills is amped up for a March 2020 trip to Israel the center is participating in.
“We are joining with the Land & The Spirit JLI Israel Experience that’s being led by the Jewish Life Institute based in New York,” Katsenelenbogen said. “We are an affiliate of them.”
Last year, Katsenelenbogen and his wife Chanie went on the trip with 20 people from the Owings Mills Chabad and 800 other people from around the world.
“It’s the largest tour group going to Israel ever. It truly is a life-changer for everyone on the trip,” he said. “You get to see the land from top to bottom, and you get to experience the spirit, the soul of the land of Israel as well. We have dinner with soldiers on an army base, we have generals and Knesset members come and speak to us.”
Katsenelenbogen said the trip is a “five-star” experience, with top hotels, transportation and food.
“We have about 20 buses that go out, and every day you get to personalize your itinerary. We have the power of 800, but the personal feeling of just your bus,” he said. “You get to experience the modern-day Israel or the Biblical Israel, or you can do a food and wine track, or you can do a beginner’s basic track for those who have never been. So, there’s enough there for everyone and it’s a very personal trip for each person.”
The trip contingent organized through Chabad of Owings Mills, set for March 15-24, 2020, is open to anyone from the greater Baltimore area. Katsenelenbogen urges people to sign up soon, as spaces fill up quickly.
