The Bais Menachem Chabad Jewish Center at the University of Maryland in College Park, co-directed by Rabbi Eli and Nechama Backman, drew students, faculty and guests to a menorah-lighting before everyone dispersed for winter break. They were joined by Student Government Association president Ayelette Halbfinger and University of Maryland Police Department Chief David Mitchell, among other leaders on campus.
