With an eye toward building and strengthening Baltimore’s Jewish community, The Associated: Jewish Federation of Baltimore and the Darrell Friedman Institute for Professional Development at the Weinberg Center are holding “DFI JPRO Day” at Chizuk Amuno Congregation, Aug. 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event’s theme is “Sacred Space, Time, Personhood: Bring intentionality, productivity and creativity to your everyday work.” The day offers four “experiences” designed for Jewish professionals.
The Ritual Lab, led by performance artist and ritualist Ezra Bookman, encourages participants to “intentionally craft moments to build cultures of well-being and shared purpose.”
Killer Ideas, led by educational and organizational consultant Claire Tesh, asks attendees to “embrace new ideas by applying visual mapping and design thinking.”
Attuning Leadership, co-led by educator and Cantor Melanie Blatt of Beth El Congregation and leadership and experiential educator Daniel Langenthal, helps participants “through communal singing to learn to facilitate leadership activities with common committees and teams, including hearing different perspectives and holding space with confidence.”
Finding Your Rhythm, led by mediator and musician Changa Onyango, will help attendees “hone listening skills to hear and respect others on their team, using drumming as a tool.”
Meanwhile, Julie Wohl, artist and Jewish educator, will lead a group art project to “create a large-scale piece of communal art to culminate the experience.”
All of the programs are open to staff of all backºgrounds and professional roles. There is no charge for the staff of organizations that pay an annual supporting fee, and a $75 fee for staff of organizations that are not annual supporting members.
