Dr. Harry H. Bernstein, of Baltimore passed away on May 7, at the age of 82. He is survived by his beloved wife, Fran Bernstein (nee Freeman); loving sons, Bryan (Alli) Bernstein, and Brad (Bela) Bernstein; sister, Carol Marks; and cherished grandchildren, Colin Bernstein, Bryce Bernstein, and Kaveri Bernstein. He was predeceased by his parents, Maurice Bernstein and Ruth Goodman. Harry was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, a man of quiet joys and a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. He will be remembered for his feisty spirit, his dry sense of humor, and the way he found comfort and meaning in the world around him. Music was the soundtrack of his life, and he was happiest outdoors—gardening, feeling the sun on his face, or casting a fishing line into the water. He loved good food, whether cooking it, sharing it, or discovering something new on vacation. Reading, watching TV, and going to the movies were his favorite ways to unwind, and he had a gift for getting lost in a story. Animals brought him great joy, especially fish, birds, and cats, which he cared for with tenderness and curiosity. Though Harry faced significant medical challenges throughout much of his adult life, he met them with resilience and a wry, understated humor that never left him. He was a man of nine lives, stubborn in the best way, and we were lucky to have had so many years with him.
