Police Arrest Erratic Driver Near Ner Israel Rabbinical College

A man was arrested and charged in connection to an incident near Ner Israel Rabbinical College, an all-male Haredi yeshiva in Pikesville.

Manooel Yerooshalmy, 33, was charged with three counts of attempted first degree murder, three counts of attempted second degree murder, and various other charges. He is currently being held without bail, according to a public safety news piece on Baltimore County’s website.

According to the news piece, police received a call about a person driving erratically in a black Nissan in the 400 block of Mt. Wilson Lane, near the rabbinical college’s campus, at 7 a.m on Tuesday.

“The caller stated that the driver was trying to run people over and gave the tag and a description of the vehicle, a black Nissan,” the Baltimore County website says.

Officers tried to pull the car over on Reisterstown Road, but it fled. It was stopped between Reisterstown and Fallstaff roads. The driver refused to get out of the car, so officers shattered the driver’s side window to arrest him.

“Police have determined that the suspect was a former student at Ner Israel Rabbinical College,” the Baltimore County site says. “Several people are being interviewed. At this time, investigators have determined that at least one staff member was targeted with the vehicle but was not injured.”
