Baltimore Clayworks is excited to present the work of Emily Lamb in her solo exhibition Coalescence. Combining both ceramics and glass into exquisite works that celebrate the strengths of each material, Lamb’s work possesses a resolute power amidst fragility. Expressive figurative narratives emerge from the synergy of glass’s translucency complemented by refined modeling skills in clay. People engulfed by bulbous glass forms depict an amorphous illustration of emotional ideas or anxieties. The varying opaque and translucent qualities offer poignant insights into what might be going on inside their minds; what is shared and what is secret.
Saturday, April 10, 5:00 – 8:00 pm: A combined Artists Reception for this and two other Baltimore Clayworks exhibitions: Coalescence, (in)Touch:Connectivity, and Clay, Community and Creativity: How We Survived the Pandemic , is free and open to the public. Masks and social distancing required. *For the Artist Reception only, reservations can be made by calling (410) 578-1919.
