A Virtual Tour of Shuls in Israel Then and Now
It has become a “thing” in Israel during the days leading up to Yom Kippur to tour the wide variety of Shuls that represent the various cultures of Jews who have returned from the Diaspora to the Land of Israel. We will take a virtual tour of shuls in Israel from antiquity till the present and enhance our own preparations for Yom Kippur.
We will ‘visit’ the oldest shul discovered in Israel located in Gamla in the Golan, and we will go to the “Churva” shul that was built multiple times (Originally in 1700) and then destroyed multiple times (most recently in 1948) and again rebuilt (2010).
