For many people, the holidays are a time of traditions— and there were plenty of entertaining traditions during the “Golden Age” of radio, from Jack Benny’s annual shopping trips to Lionel Barrymore’s portrayal of Ebenezer Scrooge. This presentation offers classic seasonal sounds from radio’s past, designed to spur the imagination and share a bit of holiday spirit. Presented by Steve Darnall, writer and radio historian and the host of “Radio’s Golden Age” and “Those Were the Days.” Registration closes one hour before the start of the program. A valid email address is needed at registration to send a Zoom link to the program 30 minutes before scheduled start.
