Ida Goldberg (nee Chaiken), of Bowie, passed away on July 14, 2019. Born in 1924 to Tevya and Esther Chaiken, she grew up in Brooklyn, New York. Ida met her beloved husband, Edward Goldberg, and kept in touch with him during World War II before being married on February 16, 1946. She went on to enjoy a career at New York Technical College where she made lifelong friends.
She is survived by her loving son Lee Goldberg; his wife Baibai Chen; and adored granddaughter Esther-Manya Goldberg. She is predeceased by her loving husband Edward H. Goldberg; siblings Sidney Chaiken (Lily Levine Chase) and Mary Chaiken (Morris) Solotoff; and parents Tevya and Esther Chaiken.
Funeral services at Oseh Shalom Synagogue, 7515 Olive Branch Way, Laurel, MD 20707 on Wednesday, July 17, at 1 p.m. Interment is private. Please omit flowers.
