Gerald Hillman, of Ellicott City, passed away on July 29 at the age of 81.

Mr. Hillman grew up in Baltimore’s North Pimlico neighborhood and attended Forest Park High School. After high school, Mr. Hillman joined the Army Reserve and met his wife Rona while attending classes at Baltimore Junior College. Choosing to sell insurance as a career, Mr. Hillman founded the Feinman-Hillman Insurance Agency, where he relished in helping clients and building relationships with customers.

A man of many interests, Mr. Hillman enjoyed going to restaurants, traveling, family dinners, attending Capitals hockey and Redskin football games, hunting, shooting at the pistol range and collecting exotic birds and fish. However, his family was most important to him and he would want to be remembered as a devoted husband and someone who provided meaningful guidance to those he loved. He had an unconditional love for his family and displayed it mostly by his actions.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years Rona Hillman (nee Wagman); sons Carey (Lisa) Hillman and Steven (Coleen) Hillman; brother Louis Hillman; grandchildren Eric (Elizabeth) Hillman, Kevin Hillman, Zachary Hillman and Olivia Hillman; and great-grandchildren Connor and Rachel Hillman. Gerald was predeceased by his parents Meyer and Yetta Hillman.

Funeral services and interment will be held at Arlington Cemetery, Chizuk Amuno Congregation, N. Rogers Ave., on Wednesday, July 31, at 11 a.m. Please omit flowers. Contributions in his memory may be sent to any charity dedicated to Parkinson’s research. In mourning at the residence of Rona Hillman.
