On Sept. 15, Julian Hirsch Hyman of Lutherville at 101. He was born on Aug. 1, 1920, in Baltimore. He graduated from Baltimore City College in 1938 and the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Economics in 1942. After graduation he enlisted in the Army Air Corps and served overseas in New Guinea and the Philippines during World War II. He returned to Baltimore to take control of the family business, National Fashions Corporation. At 70, when most people are thinking of retirement, he began his second business, Global Messenger. He finally retired at 95 to work full time on his book, “U Can Save Our World.” He is survived by wife of 69 years Paulyne Ruttenberg Hyman; children Elisa (Dr. Michael) Schwartz and Steven (Leslie Schleider) Hyman; and grandchildren Ryan Schwartz, Evan Schwartz and Liana (Billy) Vadala. He is predeceased by parents Solomon and Hannah Hyman and sisters Thelma Plaine, Naoma Miller and Marilyn Marcus.
