Ice Cream and Agriculture

Repair the World Baltimore hosted 20 community members at its workshop space on June 19 for the third annual Shavuot, Seeds and Sundaes. As in past years, the group had ice cream from The Charmery for ice cream sundaes and heard from representatives of non-profit partners, The 6th Branch and Real Food Farm, about their urban farm work in connection to Shavuot’s historical significance as a harvest holiday. The event this year fell on Juneteenth and RTW invited Eric Jackson from Black Yield Institute to speak about the history of Juneteenth, its modern day celebrations and how urban agriculture is connected to liberation.
