JT Wins Awards for Journalism, Design

Susan Ingram won Best in Show for Arts/Entertainment reporting for the cover story “The Book of Joseph: Play inspired by resilient familiy’s wartime letters.”

On Friday May 10, members of the Baltimore Jewish Times staff and its parent company, Mid-Atlantic Media were recognized by the Maryland, Delaware, DC Press Association (MDDC) for a number of outstanding articles, publications and layouts. The JT is proud to count its staff reporter, Susan C. Ingram among the winners. Ingram won seven awards, including Best of Show in Arts/Entertainment Reporting.

Ross Meadows won 2nd Place in News Page Design for designing the cover story on Harry Houdini, “Escape Artist.”

Other JT staff members also won awards. Ebony Brown, art director, and Ross Meadows, graphic designer won first and second place, respectively, for News Page Design.

Ebony Brown won 1st Place for News Page Design for designing the cover story “Reefer Gladness.”

Two staff members at the JT’s sister publication, Washington Jewish Week, also won awards. Editor David Holzel won first place in both the Breaking News and Headline categories. Art/production coordinator Mike Marshall took first place in the Self-Promotion Single Design category.
