On May 28, Dr. Lev Samsonovich Kremenchugskiy of Baltimore at 97. He is survived by children Vladimir (Stella) Kremenchugskiy and Alexandra (Illya) Suhoy; grandchildren Lena Kremenchugsky (Matt Kersner), Sonya Kremenchugsky, Roman Suhoy and Manuela Suhoy; and great-grandson Levi Kersner. He was predeceased by wife Rusya Strakovskaya and parents Samson and Rakhil Kremenchugskiy. Educated with two doctorates, he was a pioneer in the field of infrared detection widely used in our days for infrared cameras and sensors. He has five scientific books that are located in the Library of Congress, 111 patents and 224 scientific papers published in the magazines. A veteran of World War II, he served in the Navy fighting against Nazis. A loving father and grandfather and just recently became a great-grandfather, and was very happy to be part of the Jewish family.
