‘The Tzizit Act’
The GOP Congress’ parking tax (“Repeal the Parking Tax”, June 28), although punitive, is perfectly kosher. The only problem with it is a marketing one, in its having the misfortune to bear the dyspeptic moniker 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

In deference to the Republican Party’s Orthodox Jewish constituency, it should have been called the TZIZIT act, inasmuch as transportation benefits such as parking and transit passes constitute fringe benefits.

‘Stop Drinking the Kool-Aid’
As per the opinion column (“Open Letter to Donald Trump,” June 21), Mr. Schuman, “When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.” This is a quote from Maya Angelou.

Mr. Trump cares about himself, how he looks and ultimately his brand. Not one whit about Jews, blacks, immigrants or women. [He] cares about white men. Stop drinking the Kool-Aid and remember this is a pathological liar with no soul.

Whoever you think he may have been in the past, he is not that person now.
