Letters to Clinton Celebrates Milestone

0

“Letters To President Clinton” celebrates a unique, widely unknown chapter in President Bill Clinton’s history — a written dialogue between him and prominent American Orthodox Rabbi Menachem Genack that spans more than 15 years.

The two first met when then-Arkansas Gov. Clinton was just beginning his road to the White House.  As their friendship deepened, Rabbi Genack started sending Clinton essays highlighting spiritual insights from the Bible to help him navigate difficult decisions and issues.  During his presidency, Clinton asked Genack to write these pieces more regularly and formally.

On the heels of Clinton’s request, Genack invited many of his distinguished acquaintances — Bible scholars, political leaders, scientists, clergy members and laypeople — to contribute.  “Letters to President Clinton” is an inspirational collection of more than 100 of these mini-sermons.  The book features a foreword by President Clinton and includes copies of his handwritten notes.
