For the last two years, we have seen the true colors of Mr. Van Hollen regarding his lack of regard for the Jewish community and most of our concerns regarding the State of Israel.
He has become an ultra-progressive liberal who has shown his true antisemitic stripes since Oct. 7, 2023. He asserts there is a moral equivalency between Israel and Hamas and regularly criticizes Israel’s efforts to defend itself against the monsters that attacked Israel just over two years ago. He attempts to block needed military aid, accuses Israel of war crimes and lends credibility to Hamas. Maybe Mr. Van Hollen should take a history class about the Middle East and he may learn something, but I doubt that he would do so because he would not want the facts to get in the way of the policies he promotes.
It is time for the American Jewish community to stand up and make all politicians who espouse the positions that Mr. Van Hollen espouses pay the price come election time. It is also time to support candidates who are strongly supportive of the State of Israel and who should receive the full support of the Jewish community regardless of which political party they are affiliated with. The marriage of the American Jewish community to the Democratic Party needs to end, as the Democratic Party is no longer a friend to Israel and the Jewish community. Now is the time. Let’s not wait until it is too late.
