On March 16, Lola Lewin of Baltimore at 97. She is survived by children Harriet L. Meier, M.D., and Harold (Chaim) B. Lewin; grandchildren Dr. Benjamin M. Meier (Yayoi Shionoiri), Avi Z. Meier, M.D. (Samantha Hines Meier) and Adena J. Weisholtz (Drew); grandchildren Ian S. Weisholtz, Miles R. Weisholtz and Madison Q. Meier; son-in-law Dr. Henry Louis Meier; niece Betty Weissman; and nephew Eil Nebenzahl. She was predeceased by husband Irving Lewin; brother Morris Swicar; sister-in-law Regina Swicar Herschtal; and parents, siblings and other family members who perished in the Holocaust. She was the matriarch of her family, the glue that held everyone together. She knew half of everyone in Baltimore and really cared about them. Her gala (p’tcha) was legendary.
