Meyer R. Heyman, M.D. passed away on May 22, at 79 years old. Dr. Heyman was born in Baltimore, Maryland on December 25, 1945.
He attended the University of Maryland School of Medicine and graduated with Cum Laude Honors in June of 1970.
Dr. Heyman then held a commission in the United States Air Force as a physician, spending time in both Illinois and San Antonio, Texas.
With a career spanning 49 years as an accomplished hematologist and oncologist, Dr. Heyman impacted the lives of thousands of patients during his time spent at the University of Maryland and St. Agnes Hospital cancer centers. He also spent 25 years in the role of a team physician for the Baltimore Orioles.
He is survived by his wife of almost 45 years, Cheryl Heyman, step-son Louis Hoover and his grandchildren Dylan Perry, Liam Perry and Wyatt Perry. Meyer R. Heyman M.D. will be remembered as a loving husband and grandfather, skilled physician, caring mentor, trusted colleague and good friend.
