On March 16, Dorothy Newhoff (neé Breitstein) at 90. A lifelong Baltimorean, she is survived by son Douglas (Elizabeth) Newhoff and grandchildren Caroline and Emily Newhoff. She was predeceased by husband Theodore; brother Charles Breitstein; and parents Dorothy and Moses Breitstein. Throughout her career, she was a living example of women’s empowerment. From a social worker to the acting director of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for the City of Baltimore, her life’s work centered around advocating for equal rights for all. She was a woman ahead of her time in both her career and commitment to social justice.
