Norman David Michelson, of Baltimore passed away on May 7 at the age of 86. He is survived by his beloved wife, Rona Michelson (nee Styar); loving children, Eric (Brenda) Michelson, Marci (Neal) Pertnoy, and Mindy Richards; devoted sister, Arleen (Eddie) Fleischer; adoring grandchildren, Megan (Jonathan) Ford, Carly (Austin) Vogel, Ashley (Joshua) Jester, Logan Pertnoy, Shelby Michelson, Hannah Richards, and Ethan Richards; cherished great granddaughter, Olivia Ford; and dear brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Stanley and Harriet Styar. He was predeceased by his devoted parents, Esther and Meyer Michelson; and dear sister, Thelma (Yael) Lubman; caring in-laws, Stella and Harry Styar. Norman was the devoted husband of Rona for 61 wonderful years, after the two first met on a blind date over a game of duckpin bowling. In a story that became part of family lore, Norman’s competitive streak showed itself immediately when Rona won the game on their first date. His love of games and sports remained with him throughout his life, from spirited pinochle games to afternoons spent following horse racing with visits to Pimlico. He also loved traveling, especially trips to Atlantic City, and treasured his daily lunch outings with Rona and simple moments spent with those closest to him. More than anything, Norman was a deeply devoted family man. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose guidance, humor, and steady presence shaped the lives of those around him. Many family members fondly remember Norman teaching them how to drive, often with patience, persistence, and plenty of opinions along the way. Known for his kindness and generosity, Norman was the type of person who would do anything for the people he loved and would give the shirt off his back. He spent his career in the lighting business at EB Lighting & Supply, the company founded by his father, Meyer, and took immense pride in his work, remaining active there until his retirement at the age of 80 in February 2020. Norman leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, dedication, and unwavering devotion to his family. He was deeply loved by all who knew him and will be profoundly missed in the days and years ahead. His warmth, generosity, competitive spirit, and the countless memories he created with those he loved will continue to live on through his family and friends. May his memory forever be a blessing to all who knew and loved him.
