On April 3, Raymond Pelovitz of Baltimore at 93. He is survived by wife Ellene Pelovitz (née Monaco); children Alex (Daisy) Pelovitz, Neil Pelovitz, Robyn Katz (Robert Krinsky) and Lisa Pelovitz (Michael Testa); grandchildren Jordan Pelovitz (Sara Emerson), Aaron Pelovitz, Nicole Shapiro and Zachary Shapiro; and a great-grandson. He was predeceased by his siblings Norman (Karen) Pell and Goldie (Sylvan) Gershen; Cecile (Sam) Steinberg; and parents Dora and Joshua Pelovitz. He was the patriarch of the Pelovitz family. A Baltimore native who grew up in the Hamilton neighborhood where his parents ran Pelovitz Food Market, he was a member of the first graduating class of Forest Park High School. He served in the Army during the Korean War. Thereafter, he opened Pelovitz Food and Liquor in East Baltimore.
