Plapinger, a member of the Royal Society of Chemists and Emeritus member of the American Chemical Society, beloved husband of Joan Plapinger (nee Haase); loving father of Barbara (Mark) Stromberg, Jane Plapinger (Naif Ahmed) and Laurie (Harry) Thompson; adored brother of the late Ralph Plapinger; cherished grandfather of Jeffrey (Christina) Stromberg, Michael (Leah) Stromberg, Jackie (Jordan) Gouline, David Plapinger, Julie Thompson and Jake Thompson; loving great-grandfather of Benjamin Stromberg, Jessa Stromberg and Lexi Gouline; devoted son of the late Julia and Louis Plapinger.
