On May 4, Arnold Charles Rifkin, a former television engineer, photographer and professional chef, at his home at 93. He is survived by wife of 73 years Sally Rifkin (née Conn); sons Alan, Scott and David; daughters-in-love Leslie, Fran and Connie; grandchildren Robert and Mariya, Bradley and Priscilla, Daniel and Lillian, Amy and Robert, Joshua, Adam, Brianna and Blake; and great-grandchildren Aaron, Benjamin and Ruth. He is also survived by brother and sister-in-love Lenny and Beverly Rifkin. He graduated from Baltimore City College in 1947 and worked as an x-ray technician for the Baltimore City Health Department. In 1949, he married the love of his life, Sally Conn. And, for the next 73 years, he and Sally were inseparable. He had a passion for photography, took thousands of pictures “showing his pride in his wonderful family.” While serving in the Marine Corps during the Korean War, he earned an award as the best sharpshooter in his division and studied radar engineering. Under the GI Bill, he also studied radio engineering and with the advent of television, began working at WAAM (now WJZ), the local NBC station.
