On October 12, Sonia Hymer (née Rubenstein) of Baltimore at 91. She is survived by children Michele “Cookie” (Nelson) Blitz, Jay Hymer and Hal Hymer; and grandchildren Matthew (Caroline Tucker) Blitz, Aaron (Katie Smoots) Blitz, Julia Blitz and Jessica Hymer. She was predeceased by husband Tobias Hymer. Sonia, or “Sonny,” was a caring, selfless grandmother, mother and wife. She was a constant source of comfort, laughs and smiles. Sonia always knew when to give a hug and bring snacks. Often hosting holiday dinners, her joy in having all of her loved ones around the table was clear and apparent. Her kind-hearted and calming influence on her family was and always will be profound. As her granddaughter Julia puts it, she “made a huge impact on my life, one that will stay with me forever.”
