On October 24, Sylvia Katzel (née Diamond) of Baltimore at 64. She is survived by husband Dr. Leslie Ira Katzel; children Daniel (Arielle) Katzel and Amy Katzel (Robert) Adler; mother Ruth Diamond; brothers Arnold Diamond and Stephan Diamond (Unice Lieberman); grandchildren Julian Katzel, Zavy Katzel, Nathan Adler and newborn baby girl Adler; sisters-in-law Marna Katzel and Frances Katzel Kitchell; brother-in-law Marshall Kitchell; father-in-law Joseph Katzel; as well as Francine and Rabbi Raphael Adler; and many more family and friends. She was predeceased by father David Diamond; and mother-in-law Estelle Katzel.

Sylvia will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and daughter whose greatest joys were her family and friends. In their cherished marriage of 43 years, she and Les traveled often, took daily walks together, and loved spending time with their grandchildren. Sylvia enjoyed volunteering with numerous charitable organizations and served as a leader in many. Everyone who knew her loved her unmatched warmth, kindness, generosity and optimism. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
