On Jan. 5, Marvin Ira Zeldin of Elkridge, formerly Columbus, Ohio, at 69. He is survived by wife Ivy Konel; children Avram Polinsky (Stephanie Block) and Breina (Scott) Rippy; siblings Howard (Marcie) Zeldin and Ilene Zeldin; grandchildren Harrison Polinsky, Victoria Rippy and Zander Rippy; nieces Julie Zeldin (Michael Losure), Wendy Zeldin, Ilana Konel, Rachel Konel and Bethany Konel; great-niece Eleanor Annette Zeldin Losure; great-nephew Solomon Hagedorn Zeldin; brother-in-law Michael Konel (Laurel Scarr-Konel); uncle Murray Zaroff (Judy Zaroff); and Zaroff family cousins. He was predeceased by parents Solomon and Annette Zeldin. He was a native of Columbus, Ohio. He graduated from Columbus Eastmoor High School in 1970, and The Ohio State University’s College of Social Work in 1974. He worked for many years at his family’s automotive business, and then for several State of Ohio social agencies. After moving to Maryland in 2001, he served as a family service worker at the Head Start Program run by the Howard County Community Council. He was a kidney transplant recipient. He was a member of Bet Chaverim Congregation in Columbia.
