Pearlstone and Hazon, a national Jewish environmental organization, are merging, Pearlstone announced in an email.
“This is a merger of two strong organizations that now will become the national Jewish voice for sustainability,” the email said.
This merger will mean more collaboration between Pearlstone and the Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center, Pearlstone’s sister campus in Connecticut.
In addition, Jakir Manela, the current CEO of Pearlstone, will become the new national CEO of Hazon, while Eve Wachhaus, Pearlstone deputy director, becomes the national Hazon chief operating officer and will be leading Pearlstone campus operations.
