“Blacklist: The Hollywood Red Scare” is a multi-sensory exhibit that explores the intersection of politics, art, economics, and social dynamics that impacted our First Amendment rights of speech, religion, and assembly during Hollywood’s “red scare.” Through personal narratives of members of the House Un-American Activities Committee, film executives of the period and more, “Blacklist” examines the shifting definition of what it meant and means to be a patriotic American. 10:30 a.m. Online. Come rediscover the works of Jerry Herman, an American composer and lyricist known for his work in Broadway musical theater. He composed the scores for the hit Broadway musicals Hello, Dolly!, Mame, and La Cage aux Folles.
