On April 4, Alan Berlin of Columbia at 75. He is survived by wife Marcia Berlin; sons Jason (Carey) Berlin and Erik (Ryan) Berlin; and grandchildren Zackary Berlin, Zoey Berlin, Annabelle Berlin and Amelia Berlin. With an unwavering love for woodworking and a passion for fixing things, he would spend countless hours in his workshop. He crafted beautiful pieces and repaired broken items with meticulous care. He approached each project with the same level of attention to detail, whether it was building a sturdy deck for his family or fixing a leaky faucet for a friend. To him, woodworking wasn’t just a hobby; it was a way of expressing his creativity and making a difference. His love of travel led him on adventures to places such as Hawaii, Poland, Russia, China and France. He loved exploring different cultures and capturing their beauty through his photography. He cherished spending time with his wife, their sons and their grandchildren, creating lasting memories. His kindness, generosity and eternal optimism will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
