On May 13, Arline Brown (née Brooks) of Riverdale, N.Y., at 89. She is survived by children Alan Brown (Linda Foxworthy), Jeffrey (Sasha) Brown and Susan Brown Mandel (Andrew Mandel); grandchildren Sam (Kate) Brown, Aaron (Marian) Brown, Isabel Brown, Daniel Brown, Henry Mandel and Lucy Mandel; and great-grandchildren Annabelle Brown and Margot Brown. She was predeceased by husband Paul I. Brown; siblings Merle Hartstein and Howard Brooks; and parents Shafa and David Brooks. She was always admired for her passion, integrity, work ethic and intelligence. She truly cared about her family and friends. “Buish” (her nickname from early childhood) was adored by all and was blessed with so many enduring friendships. Buish worked tirelessly for so many causes, always doing the hard work to get the job done. Hers was a life well lived.
