On Feb. 13, Carol Mae Friedman (née Goldstein) of Pikesville at 98. She is survived by children Anne Stein, Nancy Adelman and Joan Adelman (Mike Folker); grandchildren Lori (Shawn) Lavallee, Phyllis (Amit) Kulkarni, Philip (Alanna) Stein, Seth Kleiner (Hilary Jackler), Jenna Covucci (Ben Danforth) and David Covucci (Bridget Brennan); and great-grandchildren Julia Lavallee, Joshua Lavallee, Eddie Kulkarni, Connor Kulkarni, Jack Stein, Noah Stein, Natalie Stein, Claire Danforth, Hugh Danforth, Emily Danforth, Russell Kleiner and Marissa Kleiner. She was predeceased by husbands Pincus Adelman, Morris Ossen, Martin Friedman and Aaron Seiden; parents Rose and Henry Goldstein; and brothers Irving Gilbert, Dr. Richard J. Goldstein and U.S. Army 1st Lt. Arthur S. Goldstein, who served in World War II. It was her life’s mission to keep Arthur’s story and legacy alive. She lived a very full, busy and vibrant life until illness in 2021. She traveled widely with both family and friends. She grew up in New York City and was a graduate of Hunter College. She had a fulfilling career as a teacher, then as a school guidance counselor and family and marriage counselor. She then retired and moved to South Florida. When her husband died, she moved to Maryland to be closer to her family. But she always considered herself a lifelong New Yorker. In her 90s, she served as an elections judge in Florida and as a Guardian ad Litem.
