On Jan. 2, Howard Berg of Jupiter, Fla., at 76. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother. He received his B.S. and dental degree from the University of Maryland and a master’s degree in pediatric dentistry from Boston University. Prior to his retirement in December 2016, he was an accomplished and highly regarded dentist. He began his career serving in the United States Air Force as a captain stationed in Japan. After returning to the United States, he established a solo practice in 1976 and built it into a prominent practice providing the highest quality dental care and orthodontics for thousands of patients across multiple generations in Maryland. He was the quintessential renaissance man. He was curious, thoughtful and eager to learn. Over the course of his career, he completed several advanced dental training programs. He also focused on nutrition, cooking, fitness, running, swimming, biking, yoga and every facet of Torah and Jewish studies. Additionally, he was a huge sports fan, specifically for his alma mater, the Baltimore Orioles and the Baltimore Ravens. Above all of his personal accomplishments, he was most proud of his family. He adored and was adored by wife Diane; son Michael Berg (Heather) and their children Jordan, Zachary and Ethan; daughter Jamie Berg (Jake Rosenberg) and their children Florence, Josephine and Valerie; brother Joel Berg (Goldie); brothers-in-law Stan Asnis (Lisa Langer) and Myron Asnis (Cheryl); sister-in-law Helane Kipnees; Aunt Trudy Grant (Murray); and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
