On May 14, Ken Klotz from cancer at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis at 79. He was born on December 24, 1942 in New York City to Charles Klotz and Lillian Hirsch Klotz. He married Barbara in 1965 in Verona, N.J. They were married for 56 years. He grew up in New York City and Bloomfield, N.J. He graduated from Bloomfield High. He attended Hartwick College in Oneonta, N.Y. where he was the president of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. He transferred to The College of Insurance in New York City where he graduated with a bachelor of business administration. Shortly after graduation he started Klotz and Brick Associates Insurance, which he and Barbara ran for 30 years. He became a real estate developer and property manager in Baltimore. He was a volunteer coach for the Naval Academy sailing program. He is survived by wife Barbara of Odenton; son Richard (Hedy) Klotz of Potomac; daughter Dr. Deborah (Robert) Klotz Schlossberg of Bethesda; grandchildren Jade, Everett, Carter and Bennett; sister Cindy Klotz; niece Kate Schulman; and Deb’s dog Dharma.
