On Feb. 28, Virginia “Jinny” G. Shuger (née Garfink) of Baltimore at 96. She is survived by husband of 76 years Sewell J. Shuger; children Lisa Shuger Hublitz and Nancy Shuger (Mark Colvin); grandchildren Dale Shuger, Zachary Hublitz, Joshua Hublitz, Anna Colvin and Jesse Colvin; great-grandson Coleman Scott Colvin; sister-in-law Harriet (David) Schapiro; stepsister-in-law Susie (Allen) Coven; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by son Scott Thaman Shuger; brother Roger K. (Harriet) Garfink; and parents Eleanor and David Garfink. She loved her family and friends, and she transformed many lives by teaching reading to those with dyslexia. The family is grateful for the care she received from caregivers Patsy Williams, Vanessa Balleh and Sheron Battle.
